Kitara will compete in it’s first ever FUFA Super 8 tournament when we face KCCA FC at the MTN Omondi stadium in Lugogo.
This is a blessing for the Uganda Cup holder who intend to use this match as part of the preparations for the forthcoming Total Energies CAF Confederations Cup.
The game will serve as a precursor for the CAF Confederations Cup first preliminary round encounter against Libya’s Al Hilal SC Benghazi which they will face on Friday, 16th August.
Therefore preparations have been done to make sure the Royals get the best from this game.
For Brian Ssenyondo, the game will provide a clear picture on the tactical and fitness levels of his team.
” The team looks good though there is still more work to do because we have some new players and we know that team chemistry may take some time but the positive is that the mental readiness and character are up there.”
” We have been doing both physical and tactical preps for some weeks and we hope as we begin our season today we can make a good start,” Ssenyondo explained.
The last encounter at Lugogo between these two sides ended 0-1 in favor of Kitara courtesy of a second half Denis Omedi strike.
A win for the Royals will be a morale boasting result for them ahead of the return leg next Tuesday.
