Kitara continued their perfect run in the StarTimes Uganda premier league with 1-2 victory over Gaddafi FC away in Jinja on Friday evening.
The Brian Ssenyondo coached side were trailing 1-0 at halftime after Thomas Ochungu’s header found the net in the 38th minute but they put up a spirited performance in the second half to make sure they take all three points.
Kabon Living who replaced Paul Mucureezi at the start of the second half leveled the score thirteen minutes later before another substitute George Senkaaba tapped in the winner in the 74th minute.
Kabon took his goal tally to two in three games. He’s Kitara’s leading scorer thus far.
Meanwhile, Donato Okello exhibited a good display throughout the game; he marshalled the midfield well and also linked play well with the forwards alongside Solomon Okwalinga.
The victory was Kitara’s third in succession and sends them on top of the table temporarily with 9 points.
Ssenyondo who took charge of Kitara in June had earlier beaten SC Villa and UPDF in Wankulukuku and Masindi respectively and will head into the break beaming with confidence.
The Royals will next host KCCA at the Masindi stadium on 20th October in a game that is expected to be thriller.
