Kitara Football Club have completed the signing of Ghanaian born defender Bonney Christopher on a two-year contract.
The move comes as Kitara strengthen their squad ahead of a demanding 2026/27 season that will see them compete in the CAF Confederation Cup, the Uganda Premier League and the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
Bonney becomes Kitara’s first signing of the transfer window, arriving with experience gathered across four clubs in the Ghana Premier League as well as a spell in Tajikistan’s Vysshaya Liga. He is expected to bring composure, experience and physical presence to the backline qualities the technical team believe will be vital for the season ahead.

Primarily a center back, the towering Ghanaian is also comfortable at right back and in defensive midfield, giving Kitara added tactical flexibility.
He will be competing for a starting spot with Murushid Jjuuko, Isa Lumu, Benjamin Nyakoojo and Samuel Kato Nimeyimana.
Speaking after completing his move, Bonney said he was excited to get started. “There is a lot expected of me, from my teammates and the fans, but I want to pledge my commitment and determination to help us win games and titles this season,” he said.
“I know the task ahead, but I’m here to improve as a player and help my team achieve success. I can’t wait to get started.”

Kitara head coach Wasswa Bbosa welcomed the signing, describing Bonney as a player the club had followed closely. “We have been monitoring him for a while and we are delighted to add him to the squad. He has a positive mentality, good experience, and he brings real competition for places. He will be an important player for us next season,” Bbosa said.
